July 22, 2019 - Announcing CHSA Region 6 Horse Show August 18th

We are pleased to announce our next horse show on August 18th. There will be flat and jumping classes for English riders, and for Western riders - Reining, Western, Ranch and Trail classes. Please, see show premium for more details.

July 20, 2019 - New Dressage Court

Since we purchased Lone Oak, it has been our goal to set up a dressage court to support our dressage riders. Today, we are announcing the availability of our new dressage court set up in the north arena. It is a full size 60x20m court, and our plan is to leave it set up full time so riders can practice at any time.

July 1, 2019 - Welcome to Rhonda Heiner

For months, we have been trying to find a western trainer that we felt would be a good addition to Lone Oak. At this time, we are pleased to announce that Rhonda Heiner is moving her training and boarding to Lone Oak. Rhonda is a very talented trainer who focuses on Trail and Reining. She regularly competes at Paint World (and WINS!!). She is going to be setting up a trail course in our trail arena, which is located at the south end of the covered arena.

About Rhonda (shamelessly stolen from her website)...

Rhonda has been training horses professionally for close to 20 years. She showed as a youth rider Pony Club, 4-H and the Open Circuit Then started riding with AQHA trainers learning about the stock horse breeds.

After many years showing on the Paint and Pinto Circuits all over the State of Washington, Oregon and in Canada she relocated to the Bay area of California and began to learn the tough Paint horse industry and Open circuits of California, specializing in Youth and Amateur all-around horses.

In 2005, Rhonda and her students attended the Pinto Horse World Show in Tulsa Oklahoma to successfully compete with some of the best in the industry. Rhonda concentrates primarily on the Pinto and Paint horse breeds and starts her customers competing in the local open circuit shows.

Rhonda has trained numerous top circuit champions in the open, amateur and youth divisions. Her horses compete in English, Western, Trail, Showmanship, Halter and Hunter Hack. Rhonda’s intent is to teach her students and their horses to achieve goals while having fun. Rhonda has Reserve World Champions, National Champions, Top 5's and Top 10's to her credits as well as numerous Circuit champions and daily highpoints to her list of accomplishments.

July 25, 2018 - Fire near Lone Oak

This one is big enough, it has it's own page.

February 25, 2018 - Ashley Adams Clinic

Ashley Adams has many accomplishments, the most prestigious of which is competing at Rolex Kentucky **** (the most challenging horse trial in the United States) and completing with a CLEAN cross-country round. She has worked as a groom, she has started babies - all under some of the best trainers in the country. She says, "I like to think that I have a culmination of skills from the most meticulous people: from Kim's drive to be the best all the time, and Holly's desire for perfection in turnout, to Bonnie's skill with any and all horses."

And this weekend, Kate Little brought this fabulous horsewoman out to California for the first time to work with us.

Friday focused on dressage, in 30 minute private lessons. Saturday consisted of stadium jumping, in 90 minute lessons for 2-3 riders of equal ability. Then, on Sunday, the focus tuened to cross-country style jumping lessons, again in 90 minute lessons for 2-3 riders. We had 9 horses trailer in for the clinic, in addition to our own boarders. It was very well received, and everyone we talked to said they learned a lot and can't wait to do a similar event in the future.
